Union Christian Training College (Department of Physical Education), Berhampore is going to organize an IQAC Sponsored National Seminar on “Multidimensional Apporach in Teacher Eduation” on 9th and 10th March, 2018.
Catering quality education along with the diversified courses is really a challenge to modern Teacher Education. Teacher Education or teacher training refers to the politics, procedurs, and provision designed to equipt teachers with the knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and skills they require to perform their tusks effectively in the classroom, school, and wider community.
Teacher education like any other educational invention, can only work on those professional commitments or dispositions that are susceptible to modification. While we can’t remark someone’s personality, we can reshape attitudes towords the other and develop a professionnal rather than a personal role orientation towards teaching as a practice.
Teacher education as a whole needs urgent and compre hensive reform. There in a need to bring greater convergence between professional preparation and continuing professional development of teacher at all stages of schooling interms of level, duratiion and structure. There is a need to increase research that documents practices reflectively and analytically - wheather it is of programs or of individual classrooms - so that it can be included in the body of knowledge available for study of student teacher.
So it is the real opportunity and pleasure for us to cordially invite you to participate in the two days seminar to exchange your views and experiences with other scholars regarding Multidimensional Apporach in Teacher Eduation.

UCT College, the Venue:
Union Christian Training College set out its journey in the year 1938 by joint enterprise of seven missionary societies and churches established with the primary objectives of meeting the urgent need for training of teachers from Christian secondary schools of West Bengal, but later the facilities for training were extended to students of all communities. UCT College completed 75 years of service to mankind on 8th of March. 2014. Therefore, the Teachers and Staff of the college are feeling proud by engagIng themselves with the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the college in 2013. The Department of Physical of UCTC was established on 15th September, 1975. This is the Calcutta University approved 2nd Physical Training Institution. The 3rd is Calcutta’s Hastings House (For Female). At first only deputed teachers were selected for admission. But at present, as the number of deputed applicants decreased, the fresher’s are getting greater chance from 1988-89. From the inception of the department that has been carrying out the teacher’s training programme for promotion of professional responsibilities, competencies, commitments and performance of the Physical Education Teachers of West Bengal.

Location of Seminar place: Union Christian Training College is located at Berhampore, Dist. Murshidabab. To come to Berhampore you have to avail any one of the following routes:
Route No.1- Avail Lalgola Passanger, Lalgola MEMU Special, Bhagarathi Exp., Hajar Duari Express from Sealdah and get down at Berhampore Court station. You may avail Ranaghat-Lalgola DMU passenger from Ranaghat. You may get Lalgola Passanger from any station of Sealdah Main line. The College is located 2 km. from Berhampore Court Rly. Station.
Route No.2- Avail Kolkata-Berhampore bus service from Esplanade. You may get the bus from Ranaghat and Krishnanagar also.
Route No.3- Avail Howrah-Malda Town Intercity Express (Via Ajimgunge) and get down at Khagra-ghat station. The College is located 2 km. from Khagra ghat Rly. Station

Submission of Articles/papers:
Original articles/papers are invited from Scholars and Teachers of Schools, Colleges and Universities. Authors should send their abstract along with full article/paper through the email uctcseminar2018@gmail.com or soft copy (CD). Selection of papers will be done purely on the basis of quality of the article/paper by a peer review team. All participants are requested to adhere to the time schedule and instructions strictly. Manuscript format is given in College Website: www.uctcollege.org.
Poster Presentation:
Poster presentation Session will be held on seminar dates and its schedule will be announced later. The poster Board Size will be 6’x4’ with eight sheets of A-4 size paper of distinct flex printing. The font size will be minimum 16 point and levelled clearly (i.e. I. Introduction, II. Methods, III. Results and discussion (Tables and Figures) IV. Conclusion followed by references). Poster presenters can publish their paper by sending their full article/paper in proper format.
